my name is emily and i'm nineteen. i grew up in a small town in texas called bulverde.
i'm a freshman in college and currently, i go to the university of texas at san antonio but (God willing) i'll be transferring to the university of texas at austin next year and majoring in religion.
i'm the oldest kid in my family. i have one sister named lilia, a mom, a dad, and the coolest dog ever named ginger.
you could say i have a pretty big heart for missions. someday i want to be a missionary and/or youth minister and/or work for some kind of non profit organization. i've been on quite a few week-long mission trips all over texas and louisiana. but it wasn't until last summer that i was finally able to go on an international mission trip. i spent a month in the amazon jungle of peru doing the Lord's work in some small villages. and yes, it wrecked my world.
other random stuff you may or may not want to know about me:
my favorite number is three.
i've never seen star wars.
i played the french horn for seven years and i wish i still did.
i love to sing and can (kind of) play the guitar.
i love everything that has to do with the outdoors--hiking, camping, canoeing, ect.
lately, i've gained an interest in photography and videography.
i didn't exactly seek out this trip to india. it was more of God dropping it in my lap and insisting that i go. and although there have definitely been moments over the past several months where i thought i had misinterpreted His call, i'm now completely confident that He wants me in india this summer. (the ways He's confirmed it to me are pretty awesome, i'd love to share sometime.) with that said, i'm totally pumped for what He's got in store for us. i can't wait!
(this was the only picture it would let me upload)
